Overview
To lead highly complex aircraft engines and engines component maintenance in a timely manner and inspect the execution of the repair and maintenance tasks to ensure adherence to technical orders, standards, and regulations.
Will also be responsible for:
1. Follow the day-to-day operations related to assigned duties to ensure continuity of work.
2. Adjust, repair or replace defective engines based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents, using hand tools.
3. Examine and inspect calibration on installed or repaired engines to prescribed specifications and ensure performance of task based on standard procedure.
4. Assist in the test flight of engines and engine components under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analysers.
5. Lead scheduled service and maintenance tasks on components and advice on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting components and related aircraft equipment.
6. Lead unscheduled maintenance, repair and troubleshooting tasks assigned to engines and engine components, and related equipment and ensure the right implementation of procedures.
7. Examine and test repaired components according to standards and procedures and approve the process before signing off.
8. Review and inspect maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports as required to ensure complete documentation and sign of for the supervisor’s approval.
9. Lead repair and troubleshooting tasks assigned to engines and components to ensure the right implementation of procedures.
10. Report findings and issues to supervisor and collaborate with the supervisor to assess the problem and lead the implementation of the adopted solution and ensure proper execution in performing tasks.
11. Lead launch and recovery on components to ensure they are working appropriately.
12. Lead installing and maintaining visual landing aids as instructed and according to adopted procedures
13. Maintain logs of airplane launches, recoveries, and equipment maintenance.
14. Lead repair and maintenance tasks on issues encountered during typical recovery missions and inspect the engine and engine components afterwards to ensure compliance to procedures and requirements before signing off.
15. Initiate deficiency reports, maintenance analysis documents, technical data changes, and equipment records.
16. Record information on data collection forms and automated system under request of supervisor and when required ensure preparation of timely and accurate status reports.
17. Provide on-the-job training and coaching to technicians and senior technicians on basic and complex tasks and procedures to support their development.
18. Act as a technical expert of engines technician’s team in addressing complex components maintenance issues by illustrating the right procedure to address the issues to ensure quality maintenance and repair operations.
19. Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
20. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
21. Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
