Workshop Technician - Armament Shop

Overview
.Assists the Armament Supervisor to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled intermediate maintenance, inspections, services, and repairs on all crew served weapons, aircraft armament systems, subsystems and components.

1. Disassembles, repairs, reassembles, removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, troubleshoots, and performs intermediate maintenance on armament weapons support equipment and aircraft armament equipment.
2. Cleans and oils armament parts, units, and accessories.
3. Loads and unloads airborne weapons and stores aboard aircraft to include reconfiguration and functional testing of aircraft weapons release and control, missile, and guns systems.
4. Aligns, adjusts, and synchronizes aircraft armament, using sighting devices and hand tools.
5. Installs and connects control cables to electronically controlled units, using hand tools, ring locks, cotter keys, threaded connectors, turnbuckles, and related devices, and adjusts cables to specified tolerances.
6. Conducts functional tests of racks, launchers, adapters, and electrical components, aircraft armament circuits, and maintains them in an operational status by appropriate preventive maintenance.
7. Conducts functional tests of aircraft armament electrical fusing, firing, and release circuits and maintains them in an operational status.
8. Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
9. Procures supplies, prepares reports, and utilizes publications pertinent to aviation ordnance and aircraft armament equipment.
10. Inspects and prepares forms and records related to maintenance in accordance with prevailing regulations
11. Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of aircraft and related components.
12. Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
13. Must be self-motivated, hard-working, enthusiastic, and able to diagnose and solve complex mechanical problems.
