Overview
The Supervisor ACRT is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations for aircraft crash recovery activities such as the coordination of trainings for all platform teams to ensure they are aware of the policies and procedures, as well as the coordination of sites in case of incidents to ensure the respect of all safety measures.
1. Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Aircraft Crash & Recovery section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
2. Liaises with GAL’s airfield departments to coordinate the simulation of bigger incidents on a yearly basis in order to ensure staff is aware and equipment is ready.
3. Carries out post-crash management aircraft recovery for military accidents, using bespoke lifting equipment, lifting and cutting techniques ensuring the clearance of the site in line with safety policies and procedures in place.
4. Coordinates HAZMAT, PPE and OH&E and act as an ACRT risk assessor in simulation exercises in order to ensure operations are conducted smoothly and in a safe manner.
5. Supervises the maintenance and serviceability of ACRT GSE and transportation holdings.
6. Liaises with the supply chain management department on the procurement of specialized equipment in order to address ACRT’s and customer’s requirements, and ensures the department is fully operational.
7. Supervises the delivery of on-the-job recovery trainings to GAL Platform Recovery Teams to ensure all teams are educated on the procedures to be followed.
8. Manages the training needs and gaps for the ACRT members on all platforms and coordinate with the training centers to improve the teams’ awareness on each platform.
9. Supervises the transportation to be on site by road, sea and/or air in case of aircraft incidents to ensure timely recovery operations.
10. Organizes and supervises the activities and work of direct reports to ensure that all work within a specific team is completed to the required standards and in line with GAL operating policies and procedures.
11. Provides on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
12. Observes performance to ensure compliance with publications, technical orders and work standards are met.
13. Prepares staff studies, briefings and general correspondence relative to his area of responsibility
14. Ensures all maintenance requirements are met within his area of assignment.
15. Prepares the daily work schedule for execution by subordinates.
16. Performs day-to-day routine inspections on the daily work activities, ensuring that work progress is moving according to plan, and resolves conflicts.
17. Organizes and supervises the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within area of responsibility is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
18. Supervises the completion of work orders and develops a plan to reduce the backlog with available resources
19. Provides inputs to the development of the section’s budget and review areas for cost saving in order to improve utilization of budget with respect to the previous year.
20. Oversee and supervises the activities of external contractor personnel, including the approval of manning levels and overtime payments, in the execution of GAL activities to ensure that all work takes place in a compliant manner which guarantees the delivery of a high quality service to customers.
21. Reviews daily operational reports and takes any necessary corrective action to ensure that all aircraft maintenance activities take place according to defined operational procedures and a timely service is delivered to customers.
22. On an on-going basis, examines current operational processes to identify and implement potential operational improvements that will positively impact upon service, safety, environmental and cost performance
23. Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Maintenance Operations at the Facility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality aircraft maintenance service and a responsible environmental attitude
24. Sponsors opportunities to take part in change initiatives, programs and projects that reflect international best practices and changes in the competitive environment.
25. Ensures direct reports adhere to and support all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls, promoting employee safety, legislative compliance and to promote a responsible environmental attitude.
26. Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
27. Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
