The Aviation Hangar Lead oversees the day-to-day operations within the hangar, ensuring the efficient flow of work, adherence to safety protocols, and optimal use of resources. This role involves supervising hangar staff, coordinating activities to meet maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The Hangar Lead is a hands-on leader who fosters teamwork, maintains operational excellence, and supports the achievement of maintenance goals.
Also will be responsible for:
Hangar Operations Management:
• Oversee daily hangar operations, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and in alignment with maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate the movement and positioning of aircraft within the hangar to optimize workflow and safety.
• Monitor the availability of tools, equipment, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Supervise the cleaning of VVIP aircraft.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
• Supervise and provide direction to hangar staff, including Hangar Hands and support personnel.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed to required standards.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering skill development and professional growth.
Safety and Compliance:
• Enforce adherence to safety protocols, ensuring the hangar remains a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Conduct regular Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks and inspections to mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and quality standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Serve as the primary point of contact between hangar staff, maintenance teams, and management.
• Communicate updates on maintenance activities, resource needs, and any issues impacting operations.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to adjust priorities and resources as needed.
Operational Oversight and Reporting:
• Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate repairs or maintenance as required.
• Maintain accurate records of hangar activities, including staff hours, equipment usage, and incident reports.
• Provide regular updates to management on hangar performance and operational challenges.

Qualification
• Forklift or tow tractor certification.
• Familiarity with EASA Part 145 or other aviation regulatory frameworks.
Experience
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, FOD prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and maintenance management systems.
• Hands-on experience with aircraft positioning and ground handling equipment.
