The Engineer Course Design role covers the entire spectrum of the UAE SAT process from analysis, design and delivery if required. The Specialist works closely with platform Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to carry out their role developing individual blocks of work for each phase of the UAE SAT process. If the Specialist is responsible for analyzing a particular job then they will co-ordinate to ensure the designs of the Course Training Plans are carried out in accordance with UAE SAT methodology. The Specialist works as a training consultant for internal and external customers.
The position may require local travel and working from multiple locations, as dictated by the Analysis / Development plan, the priorities set by the Training Management Committee, and the Training Development Manager.
Also will be responsible for:
1. Develop policies and procedures pertaining to training program design. This includes the development of Assessment Plans for curriculum, documentation of technical content and delivery of training.
2. Carry out Training Needs Analysis (TNA) activities.
3. Plan and manage Job Task Analysis (JTA) visits and meetings.
4. Carry out training scoping studies.
5. Conduct JTA interviews, observations.
6. Identify, analyze and document job duties, tasks and sub-tasks including performances, conditions and standards.
7. Identify and document qualifications, experience and personal qualities required for job roles.
8. Analyze and write job descriptions and job specifications.
9. Identify JTA and training findings and make recommendations through written JTA reports.
10. Identify, analyze and document formal training requirements.
11. Develop by means of Training Factors Analysis (TFA) Training Performance Statements (TPS) to include performance, conditions and standards.
12. Categorize training activities through a Difficulty, Importance and Frequency (DIF) analysis.
13. Establish the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude (KSA) changes required for effective training design.
14. Identify and document course prerequisites.
15. Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency and effectiveness of documentation.
16. Demonstrate familiarity with Instructional analysis procedures.
17. .Instructional / Technical Training Planning and Designing
18. Develop instructor-led training curriculum and delivery methods (such as e-learning, classroom training and practical activities) using JTA Report and Training Performance Statement.
19. Develop training materials in consultation with cross-functional technical SMEs for aircraft maintenance in-line with company standards and development tools.
20. Coordinate (as required) with internal and external partners to identify latest aircraft specifications, aircraft maintenance standards etc. and ensure all training programs’ material(s) (including but not limited to manuals, visual aids) are updated on a regular basis.
21. Develop training utilizing the UAE SAT model of Instructional Systems Design.
22. Develop training materials in accordance with UAE SAT Manual and GAL Policies and Procedures.
23. Proofread and edit own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency and effectiveness of documentation.
24. Demonstrate familiarity with Instructional Design and Courseware Development principles.
25. Prepare all training materials (as required), including visual and teaching aids for effective delivery of training courses while working with other Training Instructors.
26. Deliver (as required) training to GAL and UAE Armed Forces personnel.
27. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Technical Training development and delivery processes taking into account ‘international best practice’, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
28. Continuously learn new features of analysis, development and assessment tools/software.
29. Prepare and communicate departmental Management Information System (MIS) statements and reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet departmental requirements, policies, and standards.

Qualification
- Bachelor, Higher diploma or diploma in Aviation.
- Certification as a Course Designer.
- Qualified Internal Verifier (IV) or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 4-6 years of training experience preferably in the aerospace/aviation industry.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Training Designer preferably in the aerospace/ aviation industry.
- Certification as a Course Designer.
- Understand Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or ADDIE processes.
- Relevant experience and/or certification in developing training materials.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE SAT/ADDIE model or similar methodology.
