Responsible for required to inspect, maintain and repair the aircraft. Primary duties are phase inspections. Performs crew chief duties and all aspects of both phase and flight line Airframe and Powerplant General Maintenance. Carries out directives from the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
1. Responsible for the overall Phase Inspection assignment in the platform.
2. Lead the service aircraft and perform all aspects of ground handling, aircraft configuration and maintaining support equipment and special tools.
3. Oversee Perform on and off equipment inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
4. Conducts effective OJT to qualify a cadre assigned maintenance personnel to assume responsibility for the platform maintenance organization as directed by base management.
5. Participate in and lead safety, quality, and CI initiatives outside the normal scope of their responsibility
6. Supervise and coordinate the hourly inspection workforce and coordinate with needed support personnel
7. Review manpower vs. schedule to ensure there are enough positions to meet work demands
8. Monitor producibility issues of the programs and provide input and suggestions to produce a quality product
9. Oversee required maintenance on survival equipment.
10. Enters required Data into Computerized maintenance records i.e., aircraft forms and, history records.
11. Explain to the team member and interprets information contained in maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical publications and operational procedures.
12. Manage the orders required equipment and supplies.
13. Performs collateral duty inspections and collateral duty quality assurance inspections as required.
14. Maintains cleanliness of work center.
15. Assure work carried out has been completed in accordance with the relevant approved Technical Data.
16. Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and take direction appropriately.
17. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to Team Lead and Management.
18. Act as Team Lead during periods of his absence.
19. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety of staff.
20. Perform other related duties/tasks as assigned by the Direct Line Manager.
21. Manage, coach and develop a high performing Phase Inspection team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
22. Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
23. Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
24. Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware.

Qualification
Minimum Qualification:
• Diploma in Aviation or equivalent.
• Must have skill level 7 certified or equivalent.
• Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Experience
• Minimum of 6 - 8 years’ experience in Phase Inspection and 3 years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures
• Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes.
